5/23/2005 05:10:00 PM|||Buzz|||The US Senate will debate through the night on the President's Judicial nominees. Tomorrow a cloture vote will be held on Justice Priscilla Owen.

The stakes are very high. The Republican base expects Senator Frist and the Senate GOP to prevail, and the Democrat base expects their Senators to do the same. I think the consequences of failure are more severe for the GOP. They are in control of the Senate and should be able to get things accomplished.

I suspect that the Senate Republicans will prevail and President Bush will finally get his nominees passed. This battle must be won quickly to clear the deck for what is certain to be an epic battle for any Supreme Court nominees that may come about.
